When I start my truck up, it starts to leak gas out of the passenger side exhaust manifold. I was thinking it is the intake manifold gaskets. So I changed the upper and lower intake exhaust gaskets, but before that I changed the injectors thinking that was my problem. All that I did, did not stop my problem of gas leaking out of the exhaust pipe. The motor runs strong. No missing or back fire.

Can you please help ASAP? Thanks from a man that is mind boggled. Thanks again, Jarvis

Good morning.

The fuel pressure regulator may be the issue. If it is leaking, it will draw raw fuel into the vacuum system and cause this issue.

Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to the Fuel Pressure Relief Procedure.
3. Remove the upper intake manifold.
4. Disconnect the vacuum line to the regulator.
5. Remove the snap ring (1) from the pressure regulator housing.
6. Place a towel under the regulator in order to catch any fuel.
7. Remove the fuel pressure regulator (2) from the fuel rail socket. Twist back and forth while pulling from the socket.
8. Remove the pressure regulator small O-ring (6), filter (5), large O-ring (4), and the O-ring backup (3).
9. Discard the O-rings.

Installation procedure:
1. Lubricate the new pressure regulator O-ring s (4) and (6) with clean engine oil.
2. Install the O-ring backup (3), the large O-ring (4), the filter (5), and the small O-ring (6) on the regulator.
3. Install the pressure regulator into the fuel rail housing.
4. Install the snap ring retainer (1) into the slot on the fuel regulator housing.

Important: Verify that the retainer is engaged in the slot in the pressure regulator housing.

5. Grasp and pull on the regulator (2) in order to ensure that it is properly seated.
6. Connect the negative battery cable.
7. Inspect for fuel leaks.
7.1. Turn the ignition switch "on" for two seconds.
7.2. Turn the ignition switch "off" for ten seconds.
7.3. Turn the ignition switch "on".
7.4. Inspect for fuel leaks.
8. Connect the vacuum line to the regulator.
9. Install the upper intake manifold.
