We just replaced the fuel pump and sending unit and now the gas gauge reads empty and doesn't move. Anyone have any ideas on what it could be?

Hello,

That's a problem on my vehicle too! My fuel gauge is always stuck on empty! LOL! Okay, enough joking aside, the problem here sounds like there is an open in the wiring from the fuel sending unit to the fuel gauge. I know this sounds pretty easy, but usually there is a split in the harness going back to the fuel pump so that there is a separate connector for the fuel pump and a separate connector for the fuel sending unit. Can you verify that the fuel sending unit connector is properly connected for us? Please get back to us with what you are able to find out and we will go from there.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi,

If the fuel gauge stopped working when the pump was replaced, there is a chance the float got stuck when the pump was installed or there is a connection issue.

Is this vehicle the same year, make, and model as the one above?

Let me know.

Joe
