Gas gauge stays on full until the car heats up then goes down to empty and gas light goes on. even when I just put $20.00 in it the car will still drive on empty.

It sounds like more then likely you have a bad fuel sending unit. We could try jumping the wires to see if the fuel sending unit is bad if you would like.
