Gas comes from filler neck just before opening sometimes will I overfill

I usually overfill. There has been gas coming from filler neck just before opening instead of opening. Do I need to replace filler neck?

no quit overfulling, it's coming from vent line. when you overfill you are hurting the evap canister. you aren't going to go any further
