Gas comes from filler neck just before opening sometimes will I overfill

I usually overfill. There has been gas coming from filler neck just before opening instead of opening. Do I need to replace filler neck?

No quit overfulling, it's coming from vent line. When you overfill you are hurting the evap canister. You aren't going to go any further
