Acceleration issue

Okay, I was driving on the highway and tried to accelerate but the gas pedal felt like it did not want to move however the mph were moving.

Do you mean when you accelerate, the rpm did not increase according to pedal movement?
Is the check engine light indicating?
At what speed was you travelling?
Did this occur at lower or higher speeds?
