According to my receipt my mechanic put in 6.0 quarts of oil when the manual says 5.0 quarts. I looked at the oil dipstick when cold and it was over by just a few millimeters under an inch past the maximum line. Is this really bad for my car? I already drove one hundred miles like this? I do not see oil leaking and I think my exhaust is fine.

Good morning,

No, you are good. It would take about two to three quarts over full before you would see any leaking or smoking.

one quart is no big deal.

No worries here, you are good to go.
