Also, my RS and ABS light has came on. All of this started when I change and installed a new battery.

Hello,

This is probably happening because you have a short to ground the the circuits that control these two systems. I'm assuming that they share a common fuse and they do share a common module. That is probably where the short is going to be. It is the steering control module, and it is located in your vehicle's steering column. Why fuses blow is due to the law's governing electricity called Ohm's Law. Electricity has three properties to it.

1) Voltage(Electrical Pressure/Similar to PSI in water pressure)

2) Amperage/Current(Electrical Flow/Similar to water flowing through a pipe)

3) Resistance(Anything that opposes the Amperage). So Ohm's Law states that if one of the three properties is constant, which there always is in automotive electrical (12VDC-Battery), then if one of the other properties goes up the other must come down.

So a short to ground is something like a wire that has some it's insulation rubbed off and the bare wire hits the frame before the circuit's load. Now the resistance of the circuit goes to zero, so the amperage, or amps goes to infinity and as soon as it surpasses the amps of the fuse protecting that circuit, "pop" the fuse blows. Just like it is supposed to. The load of the circuit is saved and no fire has started.

In the diagrams down below I have included wiring diagrams, component location, and diagnostic troubleshooting guide for the Steering Control Module. Please go through this guide and get back to us with what you find out. I have also included a couple of links below for you to go to.
