I’m having a problem with the IGN E fuse blowing on my vehicle listed above. I’ve tried everything I know to do I’ve looked for loose/frayed wires that could be coming in contact with metal causing it to ground off I’ve found nothing. The only that that I have found is when I checked the neutral safety switch I unplugged it and cleaned it off because it has some oil that got into it and when I plugged it back in and out a fuse back in the truck crank up. When the fuse blows it causes the tachometer to not work and the lights on the dash goes out. But before I checked the safety switch no matter how many fuses I put in it it didn’t crank, but when I unplugged it and cleaned it off and plugged it back in the truck crunk right up? I’m lost. Someone please help if possible.

Good morning,

I attached the fuse control diagram for you to view.

There are 3 things for that fuse. The cluster, the multifunction switch and the neutral safety switch.

You need to disconnect all 3 components and see if the fuse still fails. If it does, it is a wiring harness issue.

If it does not, then plug back in one at a time until the fuse fails. This sounds like the dash cluster has failed.

Thank you, but I have a few questions. The only way I know of the fuse blow if is I drive it, because it will usually blow when I hit a bump. But yes my tachometer stops working and the light on my cluster goes off. It only does this when the fuse blows through.

Okay, then disconnect the cluster and drive it over bumps and see if it fails.
