It's like it gets bogged down. I've replaced the fuel pressure regulator, fuel filter and having dropped the fuel tank pulled pump cleaned filter on that and jumped pump to make sure it pumped. And all that checks out good. I also noticed that if I take the air intake tube and push it in making it shorter the engine bogs down. I've also put new MAF on about 3 months ago. I did happen to bad gas in it but have put additive and 93 octane in tank since but the problem wasn't happening until I put bad mixed gasoline in tank.

Hi,

When you say mixed gas, was it mixed with 2-cycle oil? How long has it been since that was removed? What type of additive was added to the fuel?

As far as the issue, did it start when the bad gas was added? If it was happening prior, have you checked fuel pressure to confirm it is within the manufacturer's specifications? If you haven't, that needs to be done. Here is a link that explains how to check. Note: Based on your description, it sounds like it isn't getting enough fuel, or you have a large vacuum leak at some point.

I attached the pressure specifications below. There are two possible pressures based on the 8th digit in the VIN number.

Do this and let me know what you find. Also, let me know if the check engine light is staying on when the engine is running and if you have a scan tool that can provide live data.

Take care,

Joe

Joe, when I said mixed gas, I was talking about 2 cycle gas. Let's just say teenage nephew isn't very bright. That happened about 4 days ago. I believe only about a gallon was added before I flipped out. As far as the additive is concerned, it was Heet fuel treatment. Didn't help at all, waste of money. This problem has been going on for about a month now but is progressively getting worse. Check engine light is on and has been for a while and it's giving me a knock sensor code. I know I need to do it ASAP, but I haven't had time, nor do I know what is the best knock sensor for my truck. I do a lot of trail riding with it but also is my daily driver. Help me out bro.

Hi,

I believe Heat is used if you suspect water or freezing of the fuel. By chance, have you tried an injector cleaner? If there is an issue resulting from the two-cycle, it would likely be the injectors. Also, have you by chance checked to see if there are any new codes since this happened?

Let me know. Also, the best parts for your vehicle would be GM parts. I don't know if you checked for AC Delco parts, but that would be the direction I would go.

Let me know.

Joe
