My son has purchased the vehicle listed above Blazer with a 2.8 V6 that had been sitting for 10 years. He replaced the tank and flushed or replaced all the fuel lines and he rebuilt the carburetor 2SE. The problem is he is getting fuel coming out of the vent tube at the top of the bowl and he has taken it apart 5-6 times to adjust the float and make sure the isn't any obstructions. I initially thought the return line could be restricted and forcing it back into the bowl, but we disconnected the line and had it pour directly into a gas can and it still was overflowing. My son wants to buy a new carburetor but I am wondering if there is something simple that we are missing?

Hi,

That is the overflow. When it was apart to reset the float, did you remove the needle and seat to see if it is good? If it is stuck, fuel will continue filling the carb.

Because of the model year, I don't have pics in my manuals, but that is my first suspect. Check that. Also, make sure the needle valve didn't fall out when it was apart.

Let me know what you find.

Take care,

Joe
