I am trying to wire in the new fuel pump. I have a grey wire, black wire, purple wire and an orange wire with a black stripe. Could you tell me what wire does what? Also, I got the wrong pump. My vehicle listed above has a 4.3 and I accidentally got a 2.2 fuel pump. Is there a difference in the wiring between the two?

Hello, the OEM Fuel pump part number is 15050590, and GM has always used the Grey wire as the power feed for the fuel pump. The black wire is Ground. The purple wire is the fuel level sensor signal and the Low Reference (Ground) for that is the black/white wire. You may want to get the correct pump, are those wire colors you mentioned on your truck or the new pump?
Here's the wiring diagram for the fuel pump and its connector, as well as the part number.
