Replaced fuel pump, still not getting fuel to the starter, ignition system. Fuses are good. So, i finally located the fuel pump relay behind the stereo. Now what? It's got a wiring harness attached but do i need to replace the relay? Or what is the next step? This car has been a nightmare so far without running. Hopefully this fixes it. Thank you

Hi,

What you could do is locate a different relay on the vehicle having the same part number and switch them to see if it runs.

Also, take a look through this link. It explains how to test a relay and circuit. Let me know if this is something you are comfortable performing.

The relay I am asking about isn't under the hood. It's behind the stereo/ climate control unit. There is a harness attached. I'm wondering if it is similar to an inertia switch that can just be reset, or if the relay is the same as the others in the fuse box in the engine compartment.

Hi,

The engine control relay is under the dash. Yes, it is tied to the fuel pump. There are two fuses related to that relay. Also, the PCM signals the relay to close and send power.

Take a look at the pic below and let me know your thoughts.

My thoughts are .... Hieroglyphics?
I'm not fluent in Electrical Schematics. However, from what i can see... Green and white wires should be tested. As well as the fuses under the hood. Question: does the relay behind the center console come out or does it stay in place? I'm going to try and get a couple pictures to show you. Thanks again.

Hi,

Yes, confirm the fuse is good and the wires get power. Also, the relay should be removable.
