what pieces go where on new fuel pump

I have no instructions for what pieces go where on new fuel pump and I am also having trouble to know if it is getting power.

See if the diagram is of any help.

At the fuel pump connector there are 4 wires, two of them would be fine wires whilst the other two would be coarser. The coarser wires are for the power supply and ground. Use a test light to bridge across these 2 wires and turn on ignition switch. Crank engine briefly and if the test light bulb turns on, that would mean you are getting power to the fuel pump.
