The car just shuts off every so often. Most of the time it will start back up. I took it to the shop, and they replaced the fuel pump. Picked it up and it did it again within 50 miles. Brought it back and they said I need a fuse box. Had a different mechanic come to the house and he said I did not need a fuse box. It could be something shorting out. Any suggestions?

These are tough problems to find, can I ask if anyone ran the codes? if not then here is how the job is done, these codes can help us see which system is failing. I have seen the TIPM go out and cause this issue which is common on these cars. Here is how to check the codes:

Here is how to change out the TIPM which is easy because it-self learns incase a code comes up for it.

REMOVAL

1. Open hood.
2. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
3. Release the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM) cover retaining clips and open the TIPM cover.
4. Remove the TIPM positive cable retaining nut and remove the cable from the stud.
5. Depress the four mounting clips to disengage and remove the TIPM housing from its mounting bracket.
6. Disconnect each of the seven TIPM wire harness connectors.
7. Remove the TIPM from the vehicle.

Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.
