Fuel pump

It would be easier if you had someone with you to help. With a helper, raise the back of the truck and put jack stands to hold the truck.

Remove the drive shaft to make room. Remove the fuel filler hose at neck and the vent. Using to floor jacks, and a two pieces of wood block, raise the jacks to the fuel tank.
Disconnect any fuel lines and evap lines you can get too.

Remove the two fuel tank straps and slowly lower the tank with the floor jack. Lower the rear then the front and work back and forth but do not lower completely. Make some clearance so you can sneak in and unplug the electrical connectors. There should be two. The fuel pump and tank pressure sensor and disconnect the fuel line and EVAP hose.

Once all is unplugged lower the tank down. You will need to drag out and with your helper lift the tank up on a table. Once tank is out the way, splice in the new fuel pump connector. Butt connetor that comes with it shrink with heat and releases a sealant to protect against corrosion.

Remove fuel pump from tank. Once pump is out you should drain some fuel to make the tank lighter to install. Make sure if there are any arrows or marks you line them up so the fuel level float will not bind.

Before you put the new seal, make sure you clean the area good. A single pebble will cause fuel to leak at that area when filling.

Reverse orer to install.

If you do not have a helper but have the tools and you are not in a rust belt state (or you are but the truck is not rotted bad) an easy way is to unbolt the P/U bed, jack it up and block it and remove and replace the pump. No dropping the tank or needing to work on your back that way.
