Welcome to 2CarPros.

Have you confirmed the new fuel pump is working? If it is, have you checked for ignition spark to the plugs? Take a look through this link. It discusses the most common causes of a crank no start condition.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/car-cranks-but-wont-start

Here are two links explaining how to check fuel pressure and for ignition spark:

If you note the fuel pump isn't working, check the relay under the hood in the power distribution box (see picture 1). If there is another relay with the same part number, switch them. If not, here is a link that shows how to test a relay. Also, check for bad fuses in the same box.

Here are a few links to help with the testing:

Here are the directions for removal and replacement of the fuel sender. I'm including this so you can confirm all hoses and wiring were replaced correctly. The remaining pictures correlate with the directions.

FUEL SENDER ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT
Fuel Sender Assembly Replacement

Tool Required
- J44402 Fuel Tank Sending Unit Wrench.

Removal Procedure

pic 1

1. Remove the fuel tank.
2. Disconnect the fuel lines from the sending unit, if necessary.
3. Using J 44402 , remove the sending unit lock ring.

pic 2

4. Remove the lock ring, sending unit, and rubber seal. Discard the seal.
5. Clean the sending unit sealing surfaces.

Installation Procedure

Important: The fuel pump strainer must be in a horizontal position when the sending unit is installed in the tank. When installing the sending unit, assure that the fuel pump strainer does not block full travel of the float arm.

1. Install the sending unit and a NEW rubber seal. Align the alignment tab to the correct location on the fuel tank.

2. Using J 44402 , install the sending unit lock ring.
3. Connect the fuel lines to the sending unit, if necessary.
4. Install the fuel tank.

I hope something here helps. Let me know what you find or if you have other questions.

After the fuel pump and the fuel filter replaced, the car still not started. I use starting fluid, sprayed directly into (air filter removed), it started, the car turned over for about 3 seconds and it stops.
I also tested the fuel pressure with a screwdriver, not a drop of fuel coming out?
Where should I look for next?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Welcome back:

I attached a pic below of the under hood fuse / relay box. I need you to check and confirm the highlighted fuses are good. Also, I need you to check the fuel pump relay.

As far as the relay, if you see another relay with the same part number, switch them. If there isn't one, here is a link that explains how to test one:

Hi Joe,
Thanks for your help and quick resp.
By the way, I replaced the relay (new) same day with Fuel Pump/Filter.

Joe, please note that my car still is not turn over "no running".

Questions:
1) This morning, I use Hyper Tough OBDII, plug in the ODP, it reads MIL status "OFF"?
2) how to check fuel injector without the engine running? Because I turned the key on and trying to crank under the hood, I unscrew the plastic cap at end of Fuel Injector, push the valve with a screwdriver, No fuel, not a drop!

Thanks Joe.

Welcome back:

If you pressed the schrader valve (pressure port) on the fuel rail and there is no fuel, then either the pump is no good or you are not getting power to it.

I hate to say this, but you access the pump and see if there is power at the wiring harness to it. Also, I want you to try something for me before you do that.

See if the engine starts for a couple seconds using starting fluid. If it does, then we know it is a fuel related issue. Also, have you checked fuses?

Let me know.

Hi Joe,
Please see image I uploaded below- Step #8, "Wire harness must be replaced if included with new fuel pump"
So, the new (included) wire harness is installed, I finally got the car running. With low idle and shuts off while driving, can I adjust the idle manually? Or should I fill up the gas tank?
By the way, according to the uploaded image below, Steps 4, 6, and 13 I did not followed or performed!
Your prompt review/recommend is appreciated.
Thanks Joe.

Step 6 says remove old fuel pump. You left the old one in the tank? As far as 4 and 13, as long as the old seal at the top of the tank was good and not leaking and the fuel in the tank was good, that shouldn't be an issue.

Have you confirmed that the fuel pressure is within the manufacturer's specs? Also, check the fuel pressure regulator. It is on the fuel rail. There is a vacuum hose going to it from the engine. Remove the vacuum hose and confirm there is no fuel in the hose. See pic 1.

Last, and I hate to as this, but are you certain the supply and return lines on the fuel module at the tank weren't switch?

Let me know.
