Fuel problem, no throttle

Hi,

The first thing I'm going to suggest it to see if there are diagnostic trouble codes stored in the computer. The vehicle has an OBD1 system and it doesn't require a scan tool to retrieve codes. Here is a link that explains how it's done. Follow this and let me know what codes are found.

We need to start with monitoring the fuel pressure to figure out if this is fuel related. I think you are on the right path with a MAF but let's start eliminating different issues. Even though you replaced the pump we still need to confirm it is not the issue or we will waste a lot of time based on an assumption due to the new pump.

Once we know the fuel pressure is steady we can move onto other things but again, we need to rule out the most obvious issue which is fuel. Next thing would be to check for codes but let's start with this. Let me know and we can go from there.

Interesting. Even more of a reason we need to confirm this by checking the pressure. Clearly there is not much that would cause the pump to make noise like that and the fact that when it stops the vehicle runs properly is just about enough proof but I would want to check the pressure just to confirm it.
