Hello. I have a 04 F-150 5.4l with 130k miles on it. The truck started to run a little rough the other day and then died and wouldnt restart. The truck has a few dtcs, P0191 P0190 and P300 random misfire. The other fuel pressure codes I read was a common fuel pump module. Sure enough I went under my truck and found the old one had rotted a hole in the module and cracked in half. I ordered a new dorman unit with standoffs to keep it away from the from. After I Plugged the new unit in the truck atleast starts now, but still hesitates and stalls and the low fuel pressure dtc P0191 came back. The truck will idle but if I give it gas quick it stalls and studders bad. Could it be a fuel pump? Or am I missing something else? Seems weird that it had 2 problems at the same time, but thats module had to be bad with the hole rotted in the back of it and it atleast starts now with the new one. Thank you for the help

That is your fuel rail pressure sensor code, check fuel pressure with agauge autoparts rent it. Shold be 28-45minimum

Thanks for the fast response. I will check my fuel pressure. If I had a bad fuel rail sensor could that cause my hesitation and stalling? I thought the code was comming up due to low fuel pressure in the rail from maybe a fuel pump or something. Thank you.

Just a update I was going to try to mess with it this morning and now the truck wont start again. It just cranks over but wont start. Maybe the fuel module wasn't shot yet, even though it was rotted maybe it was still working at the time and I have another problem. Fuel pump maybe? Or are there electronic issue that could cause the furl pump not to turn on besides the fuel pump module? I looked for a shrader valve to hook my pressure gauges up to but didnt see one. Thank you for your help

I just realized that you could monitor fuel pressure via a scan tool, I plugged in a scantool and key on just sitting I have 0 psi and under cranking I only go up to.9 psi. Any thoughts?
Thanks

I gave you the pressure specs in first reply they have to be within that range. Attach an inline fuel pressure gauge before any filters or switching valves (Dual Tanks) to verify the pressure is low straight from the pump. IF still low it is most likely a bad pump
