When removing the fuel pressure sensor, the nipple broke off and dropped in the tank. Is that a problem, if so, what can I do about it?

Hello, do you mean the Fuel Tank Pressure sensor that sits on top of the tank where the Fuel Pump sending unit is installed? pic 1. And are you able to still get the pressure sensor installed on top of the tank? It's an important sensor. There is a screen on the bottom of the Fuel Pump sending unit that acts as a small filter, so it won't get pulled up into the fuel pump, but it might get caught in the Float arm for the fuel gauge. I think that would be the only worry. Depending on how small it is. If it's plastic, does it float on top of the gasoline to where you might be able to get it out with a small net or something of the sort. Kind of an odd situation. You definitely need the Fuel Tank Pressure sensor to be working and sealed correctly on top of the tank.
The only way I can think of getting something small out of the gas tank like that, and this will sound a bit silly, but possibly using one of those small nets they use for fish at the pet store. I can see there is access to the tank from the trunk area.
It's either that or dropping the whole fuel tank. But you wouldn't want the piece to get caught up in the sending units float arm, that's the only moving part it could get stuck in. Hopefully, the piece will float. It might be easier too if the level of fuel is low, but I can't think of any other way of getting such a small piece of plastic out.
