Hi,

Based on the code, the sensor is located at the rear of the engine compartment on the left side. Is that what was replaced?

Let me know.

Take care,

joe

Thank you for your fast reply.
But the one you showed me is the sensor (fuel rail pressure sensor) so this is not the fuel pressure regulator 2.

Hi,

The sensor electronically regulates the pressure. I attached the diagnostics below specific to the code you have. It walks me straight to the sensor I mentioned. I believe the one you replaced is for the low-pressure fuel pump.

Let me know.

Hi,

You are very welcome. Please be careful when working on or around the high-pressure fuel pump. It can be under a lot of pressure.

Take care,

Joe

Thanks for the update. I just wish it was better news. If you clear the code, does the same one return?

Let me know.

Hi,

Were you able to perform the diagnostics I attached above for the specific code? I ask because I know what you purchased is expensive. I don't want that replaced only to have the same problem.

Let me know.

Joe

PS: BTW, you are not annoying in any way. We need to get this thing running. LOL

Hi,

The P1612 is related to a coding error within the ECM. Have you done anything to it? Also, here is an interesting point. The code isn't relevant for this model year.

Certainly, if the ECM isn't able to communicate, it will cause all kinds of issues.

Let me know.

Try the test I provided above first. Also, let me know if and or how the vehicle runs if at all. If we need to code the ECM, that will require vag-com software. It isn't something that most people have.

Let me know. However, I have a feeling the problem is with the ECM. Since you purchased it this way, we have no idea what was done and why.

Let me know. We'll have to do this one step at a time.

Take care,

Joe.

Hi,

Based on this information, I suspect the ECM either needs coded or replaced. Is that something you have the software to do? It will require vag-com software.

Let me know.

Hi,

If you are programming the ECM, with VCDS, locate the activate ECM in "Guided Functions" operating mode under "Replace ECM. It should walk you through it. I believe that should delete the code.

Let me know what you find.
