Fuel pressure

I just replaced high pressure fuel pump and its still acting like it is starving for fuel and I also got a brand new fuel filter. Do I need to prime it somehow? It only has one tank so it goes from tank to a reservoir to pressure pump to filter then up to the engine.

Yes, I did a last weekend. I shot starting fluid and it started and had fuel through pedal but then it like looses its pressure and cannot keep it running like it is loosing its fuel pressure.

Pressure regulator my be faulty, you need to prove actual fuel pressure first
