I put some diesel fuel in my fuel tank by mistake, about two gallons. I have not been able to siphon it out. What should I do?

Hello,

If you have not started the vehicle since adding the diesel fuel, you will need to drain the tank and fill it with fresh gasoline.
You will have to remove the fuel tank filler pipe in order to drain the fuel.

If the engine has been started, then it will require the fuel draining as well as purging out all the fuel from the lines and clean the injectors.

I have attached the fuel tank draining process below for your reference.

Let me know of any questions.
Thank you.

I was not able to get the siphon hose down far enough into the tank because of the angle of the tank. I tried two different hoses, both long enough and flexible, but neither could get past the bend in the filler place. Is the fuel tank filler pipe under the truck or in the engine compartment? Thanks for your help!

The filler pipe is attached from the filler neck to the tank. It is on the upper part of the tank, next to where the fuel pump module goes in, same side you have the filler neck. It is typically secured by a clamp.
Look at the diagram below, you want to remove the clamp on the filler pipe that I have highlighted.

Thanks for your advice! I actually dodged a bullet and did not put in as much diesel fuel as I had thought, but now I need to have the upper and lower ball joints replaced. What should I expect to pay for that to be done?
