Hi all,

So on returning to my car after a few days away, annoyingly I remember leaving the fuel light on when I left.

On returning the car wouldn’t start, so on researching it appears I have created an air lock in the fuel system.

I’ve put some fuel in now from a can and tried cranking a few times but no luck.

Is anyone able to provide some guidance on how to maybe bleed the lines on the car or remove the air lock?

I’m fairly mechanically minded if that helps.

Thank you!

Hi,

First, this vehicle isn't offered in the US, so my technical information is extremely limited. However, I will try to help.

First, is this a diesel engine?

If it is a diesel, often times they are equipped with bleed screws. Open the bleed screws and crank the engine until all air is removed. The next thing is to bleed the high-pressure fuel system. This is normally done by loosening the union nut on the top of each injector. Just loosen it a turn or two. Crank the engine again until no air is present. That should take care of the issue.

Let me know if this helps. I realize it's a bit general, but most of these work the same way

Take care,
Joe
