My fuel light came on one day while I was driving. So I went to put fuel in the next day and I filled up my tank but the fuel light remained on. The fuel light still remains on even though I filled the tank to the very top. Why is the fuel light remaining on all the time?

Hello,

What does your fuel gauge read when you fill it up?

Thanks,
Alex

The fuel gauge needle just stays down the bottom near empty and the low fuel light stays on even though I fill my tank right to the top.

Hello,

Okay, this sounds like it could be a problem with your fuel level sending unit. It is usually connected to the fuel pump hanger located in your fuel tank. I do not have a listing for your vehicle in either of my reference materials, so we will have to do this without any diagrams. I have a link below for you to go to. It is a guide on replacing a fuel pump, but that's okay because the sending unit is usually on the fuel pump hanger, so the fuel pump assembly will need to come out of the fuel tank anyways. Please go through it and get back to us if you have any other questions.

Hello again,

No. The sending unit is usually part of the fuel pump hanger, which the fuel pump goes into. The hanger is what would need yo be replaced. The fuel pump will come right out of the hanger and should have a hose and an electrical connector to remove.

Thanks,
Alex
