BTW: The fuel switch that I just purchased (directly from ford 2 days) will not stay down could this be an issue? And is there anyway to bypass it?

Hey Courtnei,
Yes the inertia switch should stay down, you may have pinched some wires when doing the pump which is common when replacing the pump. Try disconnecting the switch and use a jumper wire to bypass it to be sure, the fuse will blow if you shorted out a wire.
