The fuel Gauge works once in a while. What is causing the problem.

Hello, I am Danny.

Yes, it would be a good idea to test the wires at the tank to see if the gauge works in the dashboard. If you know someone with access to a Power Probe tool you can power up the wire to see if the needle on the gauge moves.The in tank fuel pump also has the sending unit built in to the assembly that acts as a potentiometer that calculates the fuel level according to the gas level in the tank. I have attached a tutorial on how to check wiring. I will also attach a wiring diagram. Hope this helps and thanks for using 2CarPros.
