Hello,

So, when you press the button to open the fuel door. Does it make any noise?
This issue could be due to a bad switch or the actuator that opens the door.

I have attached the replacement instructions as well as testing procedures for those components.

Please let me know of any questions.
Thank you.

You will need to see if there is any power to the switch and also if the actuator is getting power when the button is pressed. This will tell you if the switch or the actuator is bad.

You will have to remove the switch or access the back of the switch and use a voltmeter to check for power. Same thing can be done for the actuator.

Here is a guide on how to use a voltmeter:

Look at first response you will find the instructions on how to replace and test those components.

Please let me know of any questions.
Thanks.

Good morning,

Check your owner's manual. In there it should tell you the location of the manual pull cord to open the fuel door.

You will need to remove the trim panel in the trunk to access the cord.

Thanks, but I already know about the manual pull cord. I'm trying to figure out why the release buttons won't open it.

Removing those panels can be done using simple hand tools.
If you are stuck in a specific spot, please let me know, and I will see if I can provide any insight. Thank you.

Did the door pop open when you pulled the manual cord?

That will tell you if the spring is good on the door.

That is a good point by Roy. If it pops open, then the issue is the figure out if the actuator is getting power to it. This can be checked by a multimeter by reading the output at the connector that goes to the actuator.
This might sound challenging but can be done.

The actuator is part of the button you see when the door is open.

The pictures from before show the procedure for removing the actuator.
