Hello, I am Danny.

Sounds like you are having a problem with the Fuel Sending Unit. It's located inside the tank and acts as a Potentiometer to gauge the fuel level. You will probably be able to remove it by just jacking up/lifting rear of car off the ground to gain access. It should be located on the bottom of tank so best to remove when tank is empty. Hope this helps and feel free to ask any questions if needed. Thanks for using 2CarPros.
