Hi,

When the engine stalls and won't restart, it could be either a lack of fuel or loss of ignition spark.

Here is what I need you to try. When it stops and won't start, see if it starts using starting fluid. If it does and then stalls, we know its fuel related. If there is no change, I need you to check for an ignition spark at the plugs.

Here is a link that explains how to check:

If there is no spark, suspect a failing crankshaft position sensor. Read through this link and let me know if it seems to mirror what you experience.

Let me know.

Hi,

Anything is possible. One way to determine if the filter is partially plugged is to check fuel pressure. That would let you know if the pressure at the fuel rail is the issue. Next would be to determine if it is the result of the filter or pump. That would require fuel pressure testing before the filter.

Here is a link that explains how to test fuel pressure. You will need a fuel pressure gauge, but most parts stores will lend or rent one to you.

If you look below, I attached the manufacturer's fuel pressure specifications.

When it stalls, how long does it take to restart?

Let me know.
