Hi,
The fuel filter is located in the fuel tank and is part of the fuel pump module which includes the pump, fuel level sending unit, and fuel pressure regulator. I attached a pic of the module below. The filter can't be seen in this pic, but fuel is drawn through it by the pump and then distributed to the engine.
To replace it requires removal of the fuel pump module and replacement of the filter / regulator. Here are directions for removal of the fuel pump assembly. The remaining pics correlate with these directions.

1. Release fuel pressure.
2. Remove Fuel Tank.
WARNING: The fuel reservoir of the fuel pump module does not empty out when the tank is drained. The fuel in the reservoir will spill out when the module is removed.
3. Disconnect fuel line from fuel pump module by depressing quick connect retainers with thumb and fore finger.
4. Slide fuel pump module electrical connector lock to unlock.
5. Disconnect the electrical connection from the fuel pump module, by pushing down on connector retainer and pulling connector off of module.

6. Mark fuel pump location.

7. Use special tool 9340 to remove module lock ring.

8. Remove fuel pump and O-ring seal from tank. Discard old seal.

Note that it says remove the fuel tank (number 2 above). The fuel pump module is accessible through a service port under the rear seat. Here are the directions for that.

WARNING: Release fuel system pressure before servicing fuel system components. Service vehicles in well ventilated areas and avoid ignition sources. Never smoke while servicing the vehicle. This may result in personal injury or death.

1. Remove fuel filler cap and perform Fuel System Pressure Release procedure.
2. Disconnect negative cable from battery.
3. Remove the rear seat cushion.

4. Remove plastic cover.

5. Clean top of tank to remove loose dirt and debris.
6. Slide fuel pump module electrical connector lock to unlock and disconnect electrical connector. Remove fuel line connector from pump module.

7. Use special tool Spanner Wrench #9340 to remove module lock ring.

8. Note the fuel pump location on the top of the fuel tank.
NOTE: The pump has to be properly located to the tank for the fuel gauge to work properly.

9. Push down on fuel pump module and remove lock ring.

10. Pull module up out of fuel tank, make sure that you do not spill fuel inside of vehicle.

11. Drain fuel from fuel pump module. Do not spill fuel in interior of vehicle.
