Where is the fuel filter located?

Where is the fuel filter located and does it need a special tool to remove it?

So, this car does not have a fuel filter like you are thinking of the fuel filter of the system is inside the fuel tank attached to the inlet of the fuel pump. Back in the day they called it a strainer, but they figured out it did a good enough job to eliminate the inline filter. To change the fuel filter and pump you must remove the fuel tank which I have included instructions for in case you want to change it out. Here is how to remove the fuel in the tank so you can remove it:
