Fuel filter installation?

When I took off the old in line fuel filter the word out was facing the tank, so I installed the new one the same way. My question is, shouldn’t the word out that is stamped on the filter be facing the motor?

Yes, the word out should face the engine. Here is the correct way to install the fuel filter. Check out the images (below). Let us know if you need anything else.
