Fuel and speedometer

Recently had engine overhauled, after that the petrol gauge function is messed up, moves up and down as you drive and speedometer not working at all. Someone said I must check the earth wiring, but where do I find them in the engine area?

I would start by checking the fuses. here is a guide and some diagrams to help us get started. The grounds for the system are located in the engine compartment. Make sure you have a ground cable or strap going from the engine to the frame.
