Car will hardly start and then will hardly run and stop if you have to stop and cannot get to neutral and rev it up. Fuel pump was replaced about six months prior to the problem and the car has been sitting for approximately 1 year now. After the new fuel pump was installed the car worked fine for about six months but then started dying randomly. You would have to wait a while and then it would start up and run normally again.

Hi:

Chances are you have an engine vacuum leak or could even be a plugged catalytic converter.

Is the check engine light staying on when the engine is running? If it is, stop at a local parts store such as Autozone and have them scan the computer. Record the codes they find and let me know what they are.

Here is a link that shows how to scan all codes.

Let me know. Also, let me know if it does this when the engine is cold. It could even be related to a failing crankshaft position sensor.

Take care and let me know.

Joe
