My chevy equinox lost power and has no throttle pedal control. The car will slowly move forward until it gains rpm and then slowly accelerate to 35 mph on level ground. The rpm drops if you use the brake, rpm gains when you let up on the brake. My engine analyzer says the fault is, "lost contact with the throttle actuator control module". We are located in a remote area of Alaska with no roads to mainland. The book says go to nearest dealer for service. Not possible. I took the car for a drive this past hour and made a uturn. The rpm dropped and I shut off the ignition. Waited ten seconds started the engine and it ran just fine. It will do this very infrequently. It has ran at a reduced rpm with no throttle control for several months. I can go out and try to start the car, it may or may not run normally. We are completely baffled. No one in our town has a clue as to what needs to be done. We need help. Regg in Alaska. .

The throttle control module is attached to the throttle control actuator on top of the motor. There is a big wide plug that goes into it. Unplug it and look for loose or burned wires and or corrosion. Check the wiring harness for frayed or broken wires. If there is no wire damage your throttle control module is probably bad
