Just bought this vehicle and I noticed the front passenger door lock was in upon driving away like the rest. Then when I got to the house and tried to lock the car, it wouldn’t go down even if pushed in manually!

Hi,

When you try using the electric lock actuator, do you hear anything from that door? For example, do you notice a clicking or anything at all?

The idea that you are unable to depress the lock manually leads me to think it is a linkage issue. That is why I asked if there was a noise.

Let me know. Also, I feel we will need to remove the door panel to inspect the actuator motor and the steel linkages related to the lock. I attached a picture below and highlighted the area where everything is located. (See pic 1)

Pics 2 and 3 are the directions for removing the door trim panel.

Let me know what you find.

Take care,

joe

Hi,

Wow! That sounds like a machine gun. LOL

Okay, this could be the switch itself or a faulty actuator. I would disconnect the actuator and check from the switch with a test light for power. If the light flashes really fast, suspect the switch. If it seems to be working properly, then I would suspect the actuator.

Let me know what you find or if you have questions.

Take care,

Joe
