When driving, if steering wheel is turned any amount to the left of mid line, the front left wheel makes a pulsing, high pitched, potentially metal squeaking sound. It occurs every time the wheel is turned to the left and the pulsing matches the speed at which I am driving (slower speed=slower pulsing of the high pitched sound, higher speed=faster pulsing of the high pitched sound).
My father suggested there is a flap somewhere on the inside of the wheel that could be bent and therefore rubbing when the wheel is turned to the left, but I cannot see anything when I look (I know very little about car mechanics).
Hoping it is nothing too serious/expensive to fix.
Any ideas?

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.com. This could be a few different things. However, since it is related to the vehicle moving and changes with the vehicle speed, I would first check the front brake pads. The pads have a metal sensor that is designed to touch the rotor and make a noise when the pads are nearly worn out. I have attached a picture to help you identify the "screamer" and here are the general directions to remove and replace the brake pads if it is needed.

Additionally, here is a video that you can watch if you decide to replace the pads.

Check that first. See if that screamer is touching the rotor or extremely close allowing it to touch when you turn.

I hope this helps.

Cheers:
