My van has climate control and a front and rear heating/cooling system. I already had the heater core, climate control and blower motor resistor replaced. All the parts (except the heater core) were used (salvage yard) parts. My boyfriend took the van to a repair shop and they said it needs a blower motor, but the blower still works sometimes. My "mechanic" already charged me $420.00. and now a different mechanic wants an additional $225.00 to replace the blower motor. And I do not know if that is the problem. I am still smelling antifreeze and losing it somewhere (even though I do not see a puddle under it anywhere). I live in Michigan and I need heat! What do you think? I thank you in advance for all your help with this issue.

have the cooling system pressure checked first for the leak because low coolant will not give heat. if this is auto temperature control where you set the temperature it has to be scanned for codes by a mechanic to find the problem. if the blower works intermittently then it can be a bad bushing in blower or ground or a wire melted someplace causing this. from looking at engine size this is a Grand Caravan which has a blower module which could be the problem so it will need scanning.
