My friend is squeaking while going down the road when I hit bumps after greasing everything down, I no longer have any squeaks except for when I hit the brakes and it is not the brakes or the ball joints to any of my knowledge definitely not brakes. I can barely touch the brakes and it makes a lot of squeaking.

Hi,

If you bounce the front of the vehicle, can you reproduce it? Also, is it loud enough for you to record and upload for me to hear?

Have you checked the sway bar links and sway bar bushings? Also, is there anything other than pressing the brake that can cause the noise?

Let me know.

Joe

Nope, I can't reproduce the sound by pushing the front end up and down only when I hit the brakes it's more of creak/ squeak, but not a brake rub or squeal.

When you apply the brakes, a lot of pressure is placed on the control arms. There is a change the bushings are failing in them. See pic below. You need to use a pry bar to pull the arm in different directions to see if there is movement.

Also, if I recall, there was a recall on the lower control arm. There was a chance the bracket it attached to could fail. Do you remember ever having that taken care of?

Let me know.

Joe

Hi,

No problem whatsoever. Let me know what you find out about the recall. I'm hoping the repair needed is done free of charge.

Take care,

Joe
