I am hearing a metal squeaking/grinding noise when turning. The sound is coming from the front driver side. The sound does not occur when turning the wheel while in park. The sound is prominent when turning right but can be heard slightly when turning left. There are no other sounds when driving straight.

When the sound occurs again, see if it changes when applying the brakes lightly. If it does, you may be hearing a brake pad wear indicator. Brake pads twist very slightly, then straighten out when they are applied. For that reason, depending on where a wear indicator is placed on the pad, the noise can get worse when the brakes are applied, or it can go away completely.
