Front HVAC not blowing?

I have the vehicle listed above 1500. The front vents won't blow hot or cold air. The rear A/C is fine. If the front is set to A/C you can feel cold air just not blowing. My first thought was the blower, so I removed it and connected it directly to a battery and it worked fine. I then checked all the fuses, and they were all good. My next step was replacing the resistor which there was no improvement. Before the A/C went out there was a tapping noise behind the dash which led me to believe the blend door actuator was out but I'm not sure if that's it or the main control unit. The main control unit will control the rear but does nothing up front.
