I have a 98 Windstar with 120,000 miles. that has a problem with erratic steering. A while ago it started making a springy sound occasionally while driving but was steering fine. It also started shaking at about 50mph, We had the tires rotated and balanced and they are in good condition. Now the steering has become hard and seems to be slipping. The fluid is full and seems to be fine.
