2001 Ford Windstar Passenger Door Ajar?? But its closed?!

I have a 2001 Windstar SEL. When it is cold the car doesnt act up. But when it gets up 70 degrees (almost everyday in miami). The Message Board says PASSENGER DOOR AJAR. (the front not the sliding door). We have replaced the door ajar switch, but with no results! Do you think it could be the latch?
