My heater is not working, I took it to the shop and they want 700.00 to repair. My father in law is an older mechanic so we can repair, but the the dash is not easy to remove. According to the shop, I need a heater core. We need to do this ourselves once we get into it. My father-in-law works on the older models, therefore, he's not sure about removing the dash either. Any help would be appreciated.

I checked the box and it works along with the shaft rotates in both hot and cold positions. I looked where the shaft goes into the duct and there is nothing there for it to move. Could it be that the mechanism to move the door or the door itself is broke? I look forward to reading your reply.

THank you
