1999 Ford Windstar Odometer/Tachometer

While driving, the Tach went to zero and the odometer has all dashes in place of the mileage. Is there a common failure point or two separate problems?

Aside from a bad connection at the back of the dash, I dont see any relation to the two in the wiring diagram.
