1998 Ford Windstar OBD Code P0340

I have a 98 Ford Windstar 3.8. It failed emission test with the code P0340. The camshaft position sensor was replaced still showed code distributor shaft (syncronizer) replaced wires checked, cam shaft checked both ok. Still showing code P0340. What do I do now?

Code can be set by AC signal interference from alternator. Erase code disconnect ALT run if code does not reset then replace ALT.
