just been told by mechanic (not @ a dealership) that my brake lines are so corroded they are crumbling (possibly due to rust-proofing applied prior to my owning it.) he says the lines are no longer available from ford & that no one makes an after-market part. 1. is this true? he says best suggestion is to cut the lines off a junker & install. 2. is this reasonable?

thanks

i thought that about the junk yard idea.

they are metal. but a quick google search found several places to purchase brake lines. of course, since i know next to nothing about cars, i don't know if they're the right ones.
