Air Conditioning problem
1998 Ford Windstar 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

I have a 98 widstar and I am having the same problem as patty with her 96 windstar, the front air only comes through the defrost vent on all of the settings. My windstar also has rear air/heat and it kinda has a mind of its own, it usually only blows heat, but occasionly when I mess with the rear switch it will blow cold for a few minutes and then it goes back to heat. What could be my problem?

If air only comes from defrost vents, you have a supply hose leak between the intake manifold and the vacuum reservoir, a cracked reservoir, or clogged supply line. The line is black, trace and test it. if you dont have a vacuum tester, unplug it at the intake and blow or suck into it....lets solve this then move to the next one, the vacuum line or reservoir can be causing both problems!

The vacuum line could be white...
