We recently bought a 1995 Windstar 3.8L AX4S trans. 5 miles later after stopping at a light it would not shift out of first gear. Since then I have learned that the van will run very rough when cool and the trans does pretty well. Then 5 mins into your drive the motor clears up and the trans continues to shift fine. Then... stopping causes it to not shift out of first. Pulled the codes and got trans range sensor (neutral safety switch) replaced that also got camshaft position sensor, replaced that as well. $100 later I still have the same condition. What are some other ideas? Engine light is back on but have not been able to pull the codes a gain. 95 Windstar does pull codes using OBD II by the way. One of the few 95's that did.
