1995 Ford Windstar overheating

I have a van that the temp. Gauge goes crazy, up and down. The heater will only blow out cool air while this is happening. I`ve changed the thermostat, and the anti-freeze is fine.

Are you sure your coolant level is not low? That is a common cause for this.
